Company profile

Schiltknecht is a leading supplier worldwide of world-class air- and gas-flow measuring instruments (anemometers). Together with air-flow meters we also provide a range of differential pressure gauges and meteorological instruments.Â
Our solutions are characterized by extremely high accuracy, unmatched reliability and long life-cycles. We combine renowned Swiss quality with valuable know-how and the highest possible standards of service, but in a cost-effective way.Â
Schiltknecht measuring instruments are designed for both mobile (handheld and laboratory measurement) or for stationary (process measurement devices) applications. Our products are used in process technology, engineering, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, clean room technology and tunnel construction (for the measurement of the velocity of the air in tunnels).
The basis for our development and manufacturing is our certification in the following standards:
- ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management)
- ISO 17025 (SCS 046, for Air-Flow and Pressure)
- EN 13980 (ATEX)
This is your guarantee of high quality.Â
Three principles of air-flow measurement
The measurement of air-flow is based on three principles of operation: thermoelectric, vane (propeller) and differential pressure. These three principles are the most frequently used for the measurement of air-flow. Schiltknecht Messtechnik AG played an important part in the development and the diffusion of these measurement principles.Â
